Your support has been invaluable...thank you!
Thank you for your kind support of Sylvia's art-launch.
Community in action occurs when we support each other from the heart. We can help autistic children grow into self-supporting and sustaining adults through shifting our focus from their dis-ability to their abilities. Many can become productive members of society when we collaborate and work with their natural talents versus sitting by, helplessly supporting them with tax dollars. Focusing on what they cannot do rather than what they can do is counter-productive.
We have two more days before the campaign ends; Drawing Sylvia will be published by late-June. If you weren't aware of the campaign, please read below for more information on how to give Sylvia a hand-up in beginning her career in the arts.
To those who have already donated; thank you, and your rewards will be sent to you once the book is ready to publish.
Blessings,
Lily
Drawing Sylvia: An Autistic Child Speaks
Author, Katherine Yu, seeks to shift the focus from the 'disorder', placing more emphasis on the 'taIent' aspect of autism.
"Seeing Sylvia's art gives one hope as you can see her 'disorder' is producing beautiful pieces of art we have yet to fully interpret. How can that be a disorder?"
...Katherine Yu, author
