Jeanne Charters recently spoke about her research and writing technique at Young Harris College in Young Harris, Georgia, during Jeanie Loiacono’s series of classes — “So, You Want to Become an Author?” Most of those in attendance either had a completed manuscript or were in the process of writing one. Charters’ information on writing historically accurate fiction and how to keep the reader riveted from first to last word inspired all those in attendance. Mr. Davis’ review is exceptional for several reasons: he is a man reading a female protagonist historical fiction, it is fiction and he prefers nonfiction, and his ancestry has always been at odds with the Irish. This makes his opinion unbiased and extraordinary.
