Legend of Shane McLean – Quest for Vengeance

At sixteen, Frank “Shane” McLean covets a commission in the Texas Rangers. With the shadow of civil war on the country’s doorstep, he uncovers a dark family secret. His God-fearing father Kirby is an Illuminati henchman and hired assassin for the secret society. Kirby is responsible for the death of a renegade Freemason with ties to Governor Sam Houston. A staunch Freemason and secret Illuminati, Houston hires bounty hunters who kill Kirby in front of his wife and son.

Shane begins a violent life of revenge for his father’s death and as a member of Terry’s Texas Rangers in the Civil War. The battles of Shiloh, Antietam, and Gettysburg leave him wounded and emotionally scarred, while his inner demons cry for vengeance.

Quest for Vengeance is the first in an action/adventure series detailing Shane’s lifelong pursuit to punish the men who made him a widow’s son.

Ian McLean is a freelance writer and member of the Houston Writers Guild. He was born in Long Beach, California and graduated from University High School in Waco, Texas. A love of literature led him to Sam Houston State University where he played football and excelled in storytelling. For the past twenty-five years, he has devoted his life to teaching and coaching high school and middle school athletes. In 2010, Ian entered Legend of Shane McLean in a HWG writing contest and was named a finalist. He is a member of the Texas High School Coaches Association and Texas Federation of Teachers. Ian is a husband and proud father of three.

He is currently working on the sequel, Curse of the Gun.

As an author, I meet writers in various stages of their craft. Some have been traditionally published, some are self-published, and others are struggling to complete the first manuscript. Bob Blackwood, the amazing Everything I Know About Life I Learned from James Bond, and John Flynn

On Saturday, November 26, author John Flynn will be speaking with James Bond fans and autographing his new book, co-authored with Bob Blackwood, Everything I Know About Life I Learned from James Bond at the Dezer OO7 Car Collection in Miami, Florida [website: http://www.dezercollection.com/museums/james-bond-museum/ ].

He will be doing a 30-minute lecture about the Bond Book, primarily focusing on the cars and gadgets. Part One will be about the Aston Martin legacy of James Bond cars, starting with the Aston Martin DB-5 from Goldfinger. The museum has the DB-5, and four other Aston Martins from the films. Then he will touch on the Lotus Esprit and finally the BMW cars. Part Two will shift over to some of the gadgets. Flynn owns one of the Golden Guns from The Man with the Golden Gun—the museum has one of them, too—and he will demonstrate how it worked in the film. Then the discussion will move to some of the other famous gadgets, including the attaché case, Bond’s exploding pen, the Walther PPK, and other items. The museum is open to the public for a modest fee (see website), and all are welcome to see the cars and participate in the event.
