A work of anecdotes, humor, satire, and great imagination! One learns much of the characters of fine literature, is amusingly entertained, and left wanting more. Millennials will love it, as well as their parents. Don Quixote, Huck Finn, Sherlock Holmes, de Bergerac, etc. are meshed with history (The Titanic) and pop culture (Star Trek, “It’s all good!” and modern conveyances) to keep you guessing how they would ever get back on track with their quest. An enticing kibble to keep you wanting more.
Antonio Banderas would be a great Candide and Bill Nighy the Don!
The year 2016 marks the 400th anniversary of Miguel de Cervantes’ death. It is also the year that the ingenious gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha sets off on another quest. This time, his traveling companion is none other than the optimist-turned-pragmatist, Candide, of El Dorado fame, who narrates the story.
In this picaresque parody, Don Quixote and Candide encounter other literary figures of note during their pursuit for truth and justice. Cyrano de Bergerac is now a train conductor. Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson are still in the business of crime detection. Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn are somewhat shady business partners operating a rafting/salvage/used auto enterprise. Dean Moriarty is on the road seeking redemption for past sins and sins yet to be committed. Don Quixote and Candide even hitch a ride on a minibus with the crew of the S.S. Enterprise, on yet another mission to save Earth from imminent annihilation. Other remarkable names seem to pop-up randomly, yet not so, to keep you turning pages.
Stephen Doster is a student of history. He received a business degree from the University of Georgia and a Master of Liberal Arts and Science with a certificate in history from Vanderbilt University. His other works include: Voices from St. Simons, Lord Baltimore (John F. Blair Publishing), Georgia Witness, Jesus Tree, Rose Bush, Shadow Child and Her Finest Hour. (OMG) Don Quixote and Candide Seek Truth, Justice and El Dorado in the Digital Age (LOL) (Argus Publishing) is only the first of many voyages for Don and Candide. Doster’s documentary about St. Simons, Saint Simons 360, is now available in Amazon DVD Amazon Streaming format and at the following St. Simons Island outlets: GJ Ford Bookshop, the Coastal Georgia Historical Society. The Market on St. Simons, The Market on Newcastle, Epworth by-the-Sea Gift Shop, Arthur J. Moore Methodist Museum and Library, and the Golden Isles Welcome Center on St. Simons in the village. Doster lives in Nashville, TN. Overview www.sdoster.com. Represented by Loiacono Literary Agency.

Argus Publishing takes on Lisa Reinhard’s inspirational and supportive compilation Psalms for the Single Mom.
This book of heart songs, soul searches, mind stretches, and humor is the fulfillment of a promise; one Lisa Hussey made to God to take all the pain she experienced as the divorced mother of three young sons and use it to encourage others on their own journey of independent motherhood.
Through Lisa’s words, we are empowered, validated, vindicated, and also reminded of our importance as women, as mothers. Read during the pre-divorce chaos, during the living hell of one, the aftershocks of the earthquake of division and survival, in the midst of visitation and brainwashing, or through graduations and weddings and long after they are grown and gone, all are pertinent and relevant. Abandonment, death, divorce, estrangement—regardless of the reason moms end up alone—the words within these pages restore your soul.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” (2 Cor. 1:3-4) An excerpt from Psalms for the Single Mom
Beneficial to every divorce attorney, psychologist, women’s physician, pediatrician, and school counselor office, in libraries, halfway homes, single-parent support groups, in places of worship, AA/NA meetings or as gifts of love for any occasion. Thoroughly engaging . . . a story of triumph over adversity. As One Must, One Can by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields
Thoroughly engaging . . . a story of triumph over adversity. As One Must, One Can by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields
By Lon As One Must, One Can (The Havah Gitterman Saga Book 3)
For those who have wondered what happened to the characters in the first two novels of this trilogy, an uplifting resolution is in store. For those who haven’t read the first two, Wisoff-Fields does a seamless job of blending information from the previous two books. It was thoroughly engaging. The warm smells of the Jewish cooking I imagined kept me hungry as I read. It was tradition, and a story of triumph over adversity, full of interesting historical facts that enriched the narrative and provided a sense of authenticity.
